Long time, no update! Lots of great things have been happening. The big premiere of The Bride Wore Blood at the Davenport IMAX went great. The showing sold out and management scrambled to add a second showing later that evening! The film also garnered positive reviews in the Quad City Times and the River Cities' Reader. Since then, the gentlemen of Blue Box Ltd. have been working on the upcoming DVD release of the film, including outtakes, interviews, behind-the-scenes photos and tons of other extras. We just screened it not too long ago and it has some really nice features. It even has a composer interview!

Along with the Bride Wore Blood DVD, Scott and Blue Box are going to be publishing the piano sheet music to the Main Theme from The Bride Wore Blood, composed by Metrolites lead man Scott Morschhauser. It will be available worldwide this spring, coinciding with the DVD release.
Also coming up is the "Hollywood on the Mississippi" film festival at the Capitol Theatre on Saturday, April 21. From the press release:
Hollywood will come to the banks of the Mississippi on April 21, 2007, with a film festival at Davenports beautiful Capitol Theatre. Film Fest Quad Cities will feature local entrepreneurs who are working in the motion picture industry and will showcase opportunities for young entrepreneurs to use their creative talents to build new businesses serving the industry.

The Film Fest is presented by the Eastern Iowa SBDC and Scott Community College and takes place at the beginning of Small Business Week. Events across the country will showcase America's small businesses and their importance to the nation's economy. Small Business Week is sponsored by the Small Business Administration (SBA), www.sba.gov.

The Film Fest will run from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and show two full length films and several short films throughout the day. Other presentations will showcase work in animation, music and video production. Discussion periods following each presentation will allow participants plenty of time for interaction with presenters. Presenters include:

Max Allan Collins and Phil Dingledein
Scott Beck and Bryan Woods Bluebox Limited
Ed Isenberg Avolux Media
Scott Morschhauser
Greg Martin Silver Oaks Communications
Our very own Scott Morschhauser will be appearing at the Quad Cities Film Fest to give a presentation on his work as a film composer. Reserve your tickets today!

Also in the works is the upcoming release of Somos Las Bolas, a new short film by Andrew Edmark and Snapshot Pictures. Scott composed and engineered the music to the film, and performed the music along with Metrolites guitarist Kathleen Gallagher. We just saw an early DVD cut and it looks great! Director Andrew Edmark and producer Harry Day also helped design and photograph the artwork for the Metrolites' For The People. Be on the lookout for this fine film to come out on DVD later this spring!
